So You Crave Progress in Life? This is It!
Nothing troubles most of us today more than the thought of how we could
improve our circumstances, be it on issues related to our being, relationships,
careers, work, finances, or life in general. But as impossible as it may seem,
you alone, right where you are, being who you are, and with what you have, you
have the power to change your life from a status of being stuck to progress.
Incorporate these tricks into your lifestyle and see how you progress in
life.
1. Make a habit of positive self-talk every morning after waking and
at night just before going to bed- Self-talk is more important than you
think.
2. Accept that problems will always be part of life, but do not
make them your identity. Instead, learn to use them to your advantage
and be smart about it.
3. Replace clothes and shoes that no longer fit you- There is a
reason why they no longer fit you. You have outgrown them. So why keep holding
on to something you have outgrown?
4. Stop living in the past- Progressing means moving forward or
advancing, not backward. So if you keep living in the past, how will you even
progress? Forgive those who wronged you, and forget everything that did not
work out in the past. Instead, see them as opportunities for better things that
are coming.
5. Make an audit of what is and what's not working out in your
life. Invest more in what is working and do away with what is not
working if you cannot change it for the better.
6. Make daily, weekly, monthly, or annual plans
7. Know the difference between time for work and leisure. Do not
cheat yourself into leisure when you should be working or working during leisure
time.
8. Save and Invest before you Spend, Repeat-This is obvious
9. Do not eat crap-You are what you eat; always remember that.
10. Be selective about how and with whom you spend your time. Money
and other temporary things we value today can run out, yet come back, but not
time. Once time is gone, it's gone, and you do not get it back, so spend it
wisely.
11. Do not deeply hold on to people's promises; always have a backup plan
if you have to. The sooner you learn and accept that no one is coming
to save you, the better and easier your life becomes. So learn to be your hero
first. In the process, you could also become another person's hero.
12. Avoid staying in your comfort zone. Your comfort zone is like a
beautiful prison which you can leave anytime because the gate is opened, yet so
difficult to leave until it's too late, and you have to stay there forever.
13. Think long-term but thoughtfully and carefully. Remember Martin
Luther King Jr.'s quote that we do not have to see the entire staircase but
focus on the one step ahead?
14. Work on the things that no one can take away from you- Think
about what is inside of you that no one can give or take from you.
15. Finally, Stop trying so hard. Play your part the best you can,
and everything will fall into place when you least expect it.
