10 Ways You Can Overcome Boredom
Are there days when you feel bored? Not necessarily tired, but just bored. Such days are rarely a typical workday, or since you are aware of the negative effects of overworking (the ugly side of too much grinding), as discussed in a former article (link posted below), you opt to relax. However, you might have had enough of scrolling through social media and binge-watching on Netflix and now wondering what else you could do on your rest day. The fact that you might also not want a nap is relatable-believe me, it is. However, the main problem is deciding how to spend such days. More so when you are short on cash or, let's say- when you're broke.

There are many ways you can overcome boredom and enjoy
life. These tips can enhance your mental clarity so that you resume working
fully motivated and energized, thus even more productive.
Rearranging Your Closet-
In the process, you could discover clothes and shoes that no longer fit you or
those you have not worn in a while. Therefore, you can decide to donate them,
which creates a feeling of contentment or fulfilment.
Improving Your Home Interior-
This will help you step out of the ordinary. Visualize your dream living space,
and create it as you have always desired. You can adopt a theme or reorganize
your furniture using modern or new methods. This is to ensure you don't feel
stuck or stagnant and do not even need lots of money to do so. Just start with
what you have!
Thinking Out-of-the-Box with Food or Snack Recipes- Try new ways or methods of cooking your food or preparing snacks. Tip: Try recipes from other cultures; you will be surprised. You could also try making a dish you once had at a restaurant and loved.
Create a Simple Monthly or Weekly Meal
Plan- Do you ever struggle to decide what to prepare or
order for lunch or dinner? This is very relatable, and not only does it cause
decision fatigue, but it can also negatively affect your mental clarity, which
is necessary for productivity. Take advantage of the times that you feel bored
to make a simple meal plan.
Play draft, Poker, or a Jigsaw Puzzle
- What a fun way to exercise your mind! It will also leave you feeling awesome.

Sing and Dance to Your Favorite Old School
Music - Music that you loved at a young age hits differently,
especially when you are feeling low and after a busy week.
Art and Craft activities
- Who said you need tons of cash to get crafty? You could knit, make bracelets,
paint or draw anything that comes to mind, or make a scrapbook. The list is
endless, and the materials used are probably either within the house or are easily
accessible and very affordable!
Read a Comic Book
- This is a great idea if you are not willing to commit to a novel yet would
like to read something interesting.
Write Down Everything You are Thankful For
-This will enhance your outlook on life and improve your overall mental health.
Bond With the People and Pets in Your Home - You could engage in mentally stimulating conversations with your housemates or family or train and play with your pet if you live alone.
